Brent Clements


Chief Executive Officer

Brent is an accomplished entrepreneur, executive, and healthcare visionary. With over 20 years experience in senior leadership roles for multiple organizations in the healthcare and technology industries, Brent has a clear plan for what is required to build a successful company. Brent’s passion for helping those families in need inspired the founding of Addiction Campuses. Throughout his professional career Brent has developed expertise in creating strategy for the future, maximizing organizational efficiency, and building relationships with care givers, employees and community partners who drive change. Ultimately Brent believes “If we change the core belief system, the mindset changes and good behavior follows”. That is what Addiction Campuses is all about. He was recognized as one of Nashville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2011 and Healthcare Heroes nominee in 2010. Brent is married to his wife, Vicki, and they have two sons.

Reed Shandoff


Chief Operations Officer

Reed is a self-motivated operations-focused executive with proven strengths in leading organizations, engineering large-scale performance improvements, building cohesive teams, and deploying technology to automate systems and drive efficiency. He brings almost a decade of experience in the addiction treatment industry and has been integral in growing two successful national inpatient treatment programs. Reed has deep expertise in building and leading high-growth organizations from start-up phase through performance. He has a strong focus on operational excellence and measuring results of operational performance to ensure clinical outcomes are achieved. In addition, Reed has been involved in multiple merger and acquisition initiatives and will be instrumental in achieving the aggressive growth goals of the company. Reed is married to his lovely wife, Jen, and together they have two beautiful children.

Lee Whitfield, CPA


Chief Financial Officer

Lee is a Nashville native and graduate of David Lipscomb University with a degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and worked in Big Six accounting with Deloitte & Touche. He has served in the USMC (Reserve) and was a commissioned officer and aviator in the Tennessee National Guard. His industry experience is varied with retail, transportation, manufacturing and utilities, as well as healthcare. He has served as Controller and Director of Central Accounting for several Nashville based companies both public and private. His most recent experience prior to being named Chief Financial Officer with Freedom Healthcare was Controller/Treasurer with American Addition Centers. Lee is married to his wife, Mary Margaret, and they have two sons.

Dr. Jason Brooks, PhD, SPHR


Chief People Officer

Dr. Brooks is an expert in leading individual and organizational transformation and growth initiatives of all kinds. As the Chief People Officer responsible for the human resources, organizational and leadership development aspects of the company, Dr. Brooks brings a passion for maximizing the contributions and unleashing the potential of all members of the team. He has over 22 years experience in senior management and executive level roles in multi-million and multi-billion dollar organizations in a variety of industries include healthcare, consulting, hospitality, distribution, and manufacturing. Dr. Brooks is a best-selling author, speaker, and an avid learner and teacher having earned the degrees of PhD in psychology, MBA, MS in mental health counseling, and BS in management. He is a Senior Professional in Human Resources, Certified Executive Coach, Board Certified Coach, and National Certified Counselor. He also serves on multiple boards of directors and is an adjunct professor for Lipscomb University in the Master of Human Resources degree program. Dr. Brooks is married to his bride, Darla. They have three children, two sons and a daughter who they adopted from China.

Toril Newman, LCSW


Chief Clinical Officer

As the Chief Clinical Officer for Addiction Campuses, Toril has more than thirty years working in a variety of clinical management and supervisory positions. She brings extensive experience engaging with clients of all types in numerous high-stress, fast-paced situations with a social work focus and experience with individuals and groups. She has specialized expertise in addiction treatment, eating disorders, severe and persistent mentally ill (SPMI)patients, as well as dual-diagnosis. Prior to joining Addiction Campuses, she held the interim CEO at two high-end, dual-diagnosis treatment centers and opened a 148-bed dual-diagnosis treatment center. Toril holds her MSSW, BSW and is a licensed clinical social worker. She has a passion for developing high-impact, outcomes-focused programs and building strong clinical teams to provide the best care possible for our clients. Toril is married to her husband, Tony and together they share a vibrant family of children and grandchildren.

Eric Mitchell


Chief Marketing Officer

Eric brings 16 years of experience facilitating growth, sales, and marketing strategies in the behavioral healthcare industry.  Eric began his career in sales in 1999, and within 3 years worked his way into an executive leadership position in an international brand.  From 2005-2008 Eric co-founded 3 successful private companies including an inpatient detoxification center and a residential substance abuse treatment center.  Eric lives in Nashville with his wife Rachael and their 3 children.
