WSMV: Warning about hepatitis C issued by TN health officials

The Tennessee Department of Health says more than 100,000 people in the state may be living with chronic hepatitis C and not even know about it
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – There is no vaccine to prevent hepatitis C, so avoiding exposure is the best way to avoid contracting it. “The only symptoms I had were flu-like symptoms. A lot of people don’t know they have it because it doesn’t produce any symptoms for years … I only had mine tested just because I knew the person I’d shared with had hepatitis C,” said Addiction Campuses’ Clayton Barnes, who contracted hepatitis C from a needle.
