Addiction Campuses Dispatches Mobile Crisis Unit In Los Angeles, Western United States

NASHVILLE, Tenn.Addiction Campuses, a pioneer in treating substance abuse and mental health disorders, has dispatched a Mobile Crisis Unit into the Los Angeles and southern California area this year.

Adelle Buede will oversee the unit and work to help those battling drug addiction find their path to recovery. Buede, who is in recovery herself, brings years of experience in the industry to the western part of our country and specifically the Los Angeles area.

Buede’s path to Addiction Campuses is remarkable and she is able to share her own story of addiction with those who are looking for sobriety themselves. When Buede was a dual sport, high school athlete, she suffered many injuries that required medical treatment. Like many impacted by the opioid epidemic, Buede abused prescription painkillers and alcohol to cope with her injuries for nearly five years.

“When it comes to college athletes, teams want to get you from Point A to Point B, no matter what medications it takes to get you there,” said Buede.

After many trips to southeast Asia, Buede found sobriety and is now committed to helping others do the same. As a Mobile Crisis Unit, Buede is tasked with introducing Addiction Campuses and our resources to those all over the western part of the country. Buede will work as the company’s boots on the ground, day and night, to help provide treatment, training, prevention initiatives and after-care follow up for those in desperate need of help.

According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, drug overdoses were the leading cause of death for people aged 25-44 in 2013 with 9 per 100,000 and fourth overall for premature deaths with 22,412 victims.

Addiction Campuses was founded in 2014 outside of Nashville, Tennessee by Brent Clements and our leadership team. Over the past four years, our network has grown to four campuses; Turning Point in Southaven, MS, The Treehouse in Scurry, TX, Swift River in Cumington, MA and The Bluffs in Sherrodsville, OH and nearly 30 Mobile Crisis Units dispatched nationwide.

If you are interested in learning more about Addiction Campuses, would like to interview Buede to hear her full story or speak with any of our experts for a story now or in the future, we are happy to help. Journalists like yourself are our biggest tool in spreading a message of hope and fighting our way out of the opioid epidemic and war on drugs.
