NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 19, 2018) – Addiction Campuses, nationwide thought leader in behavioral health treatment, is proud to be nominated at the 2018 Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards to take place this Saturday at 8pm CST.

The organization is nominated for 3 projects worked on from the eligibility period between the years 2016-2017, alongside some of the best talent the Midsouth region and the country have to offer.

Community Service Award

The Community Service Award is given to the person most responsible for excellence in programming; whether news or non-news, involving the entire company in a continuing effort to focus interest on, and marshal support for, a worthy community cause. The nominees in this category emphasize depth, breadth, duration and efficacy of the effort. Nominated in this category is Addiction Campuses Director of Public Relations Brian Sullivan for his work with WZTV’s Erika Kurre on The Opioid Epidemic in Tennessee.

Addiction Campuses and Fox17 are leading the fight against overprescribing opioids in our community, through the state of Tennessee and beyond the region. More than 60,000 people died of overdose in the United States in 2016. The year before, 1364 deaths occurred in the state of Tennessee, with 376 in Davidson County alone. Most of the overdose deaths occurred due to opioid use of prescription painkillers and heroin.

It has been a mission of ours over the past 5 months to expose the cause of drug-related deaths and addiction and explore, inspire and create solutions for the growing epidemic affecting the MidSouth. What we exposed is shocking.

In the first part of the series, viewers heard the real story of a local mother trapped in the grip of addiction while pregnant.

Further into the series, we reveal a federal program that many believe entices doctors to overprescribe.

This series ultimately turns to money in politics, and the companies funding campaigns for lawmakers in the state.

Community/Public Service PSA Spot

The Community/Public Service PSA Spot Award is given for excellence in announcements that effectively focus interest in and marshal support for worthy community or area causes.

Addiction Campuses’ Erin Dineen is nominated for her work with Kaleidoscope Media on Spring to Life: Self Improvement Through Faith

Promo Spot/Program

The Promo Spot/Program Award is given for excellence in announcements that promote non-news programming. This includes spots that promote a broader station/company image as well as regionally produced spots for network and/or syndicated programming.

Addiction Campuses’ Erin Dineen is nominated for her work with Kaleidoscope Media on The Treehouse: Mind, Body, Spirit

Addiction Campuses is so proud to be nominated for such prestigious honors and congratulates all Nominees in every category. We look forward to celebrating with them at the gala.
