NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 17, 2018) – Addiction Campuses is proud to announce Reporter Brett Martin, formerly of WKRN, has joined the team as their new Public Relations Manager.

With more than five years under his belt as a journalist, Martin has worked from coast to coast and covered some of the unthinkable. From mudslides on the West Coast to widespread flooding in the Midwest, to wildfires in East Tennessee, he’s told the public’s stories of fear and their stories of unity.

“I am beyond excited to help people push back against the opioid epidemic and break the stigma those addicted face every day,” says Martin. “I couldn’t be happier to serve the public in this capacity.”

Martin is an Emmy-Award winning journalist who returned to the Volunteer State in 2016, where he served the past 2 years for WKRN. Prior to his return, while working throughout Missouri, Martin covered everything from the aftermath of the Ferguson riots across the state to the opioid epidemic in the Ozarks. In 2015, Brett was awarded the Emmy for Best Team Coverage for a series on race relations in Missouri.

Brett also covered the out of control homeless problem in Springfield, Missouri by going inside the day to day life of someone struggling on the streets. While working along the James and White Rivers, Brett learned a great deal about environmental regulations from the local level all the way to Washington, D.C.

Prior to his work in Missouri, Martin helped re-launch a morning show that stretched from San Jose to Santa Barbara, California called “Wake Up Central Coast”. He reported on the alarming gun and gang violence through the Salinas Valley and the booming wine business in the Carmel Valley.

Brett grew up in Memphis and graduated from the University of Memphis. He enjoys spending time on the golf course and with his wife Kristina, along with their two black Labradors.

“I think I may be even more excited about the new chapter in Brett Martin’s life than he is,” says Addiction Campuses Director of Public Relations Brian Sullivan. “Really good Public Relations Managers are difficult to find. I believe that’s what we’ve done here. We’re about to take our department to the next level and he was the right person to bring along.”

Martin will serve directly under Sullivan and will be based at the Addiction Campuses Home Campus in the West End area of Nashville, Tennessee. You can contact him directly at [email protected] or 901.859.8274.

If you are a member of the media and wish to schedule an interview with a client, alumnus or staff, please contact Brett Martin or myself directly at [email protected] or 901.949.7926.
