Williamson County Anti-Drug Coalition Implements New Prescription Drug Drop Box Location

April 5th, 2016 | By Addiction Campuses

3 Convenient Locations Now Part of the Fight Against Abuse of Narcotics

NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. – (April 5, 2016) – A new permanent prescription drug box provided by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is now in place at the Nolensville Police Department. Nolensville Police Chief Troy Huffines, along with WCADC’s Alex Windings, coordinated the necessary paperwork with TDEC to obtain the new location inside the Nolensville City Hall lobby.

“This whole initiative is part of our Count it! Lock it! Drop it! Campaign to reduce prescription drug abuse and misuse,” says Windings. “We hope it gives people the opportunity to clean out their medicine cabinets and reduce the number of people snagging a few pills while they’re using the restroom or visiting.”

The new location, open Monday-Friday during normal business hours, makes 3 total for the county. The other 2 boxes are located at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department (inside and open during business hours) and Fairview Police Department (outside and open 24/7). The coalition also has at-home lock boxes to give to the community for FREE if they have medications they want to keep locked up.
